Progress Shot #2

Progress Shot #2

I have had success! Thanks for changing the settings, Frou!! All there and working! I know you’ve seen this shot before… but I just wanted to see if it was working now or not! I honestly haven’t done any cross stitching for a couple of weeks. I’ve started a knitting class… and I have a certain amount of blocks to finish before each class each week!! So I’ve been busy knitting. It’s been fun and different. I’m hoping to be able to give Mary some more time tonight…. cause I think I’ll have used up all the yarn I bought…. today!! Hope you’re all well. It’s exciting seeing the progress of everyone’s Mary’s! Can’t believe that people have finished it already…!!

My Mary Wigham Progress….

Posted by thecrossstitcher on July 7, 2009

Mary Wigham Progress

I think I’ve finally worked out how to upload a picture on here! It’s not that hard really… just that the first one I tried was HUGE and I’ve had to go and learn how to edit it!!

I haven’t been able to do any stitching without glasses… that’s telling you how small 40 count is for me!! I’m pretty used to doing cross stitching on 18 count aida… but I’ve never done anything this small. I’m loving how it’s looking so far. I’ve finished 3 motifs and have started the fourth. My husband isn’t really sure what the attraction is… it’s okay… I don’t expect him to understand!!! (Please forgive the wavy lines… my editing has caused it to look weird!!)

How is everyone else going??

Mary Wigham arrives in North Western NSW

Posted by thecrossstitcher on July 6, 2009

I finally got myself organised and bought some 40 count cream linen (my only option in linen!) to start my sal on. I’ve done about 7 hours so far and nearly finished three motifs.  It looks good… but I can tell it’s going to take me a while! Thank goodness for online sal groups to keep me motivated!!

I can’t work out how to add a photo… Hmm…. surely it can’t be that hard?

Introduction… The Cross Stitcher!

Posted by thecrossstitcher on July 3, 2009

Hi everyone… I actually don’t have an progress to show yet…! I only discovered this SAL last week and have been waiting until I go to town to get the threads I need and also get some fabric to start the sampler on. I’m really excited about starting this one… I have many wips… but that’s okay… this one excites me because it’s something totally different to anything I’ve done before! I’m intrigued by the history behind this sampler and it’s gotten me reinspired about cross stitching. I have another blog that is for my sewing and stitching… but wanted something where I could just concentrate on my cross stitching. I’m looking forward to getting to know everyone and get a beautiful project under way. I’ll be back with updates later as to how my work is progressing… looks like I have alot to catch up on!!
