Hi all,
Most of you seem to be new to webshots, so thought I’d give you a quick how to in regard to adding photo’s and links to your blogs.
All of the info. below will only make sense if you can see the same post page that I do – as an adminstrator I think I can see more, but let’s see if we can work it out.
When you are in Add New Post mode, you should have a menu across the top of the post screen, that allows you to format Buttons with B I etc. You get more options if you are in the visual tab, rather than the HTML tab.
Directly above the B I buttons there should be Upload/ Insert and a series of icons – the picture icon is the first of these buttons. When you click on the icon you get a pop up box called Add an Image. You need to select Select Files button on the line that says Choose Files to Upload.
Then just browse and select the image you want from your computer – the image will be copied into the blog web library, so it doesn’t create a security issue for you.
When you’ve found your image it’ll crunch and upload the file and you get another pop-up that allows you to rename the image and put in a description. It also allows you to determine whether you want to centre or left/right the image and it’s size – I tend to use either thumbnail or medium depending on how many images I’m going to load.
Finally, just below the size line there is a button to insert into post. Click this and your image is saved into the library and also posted into the entry. If you want to reload the image you can then access it via the upload/insert image button again, but instead of going to your computer to select file, you can go to the media library, where the image is stored (you can then change the size or orientation of the image).
Adding a link – first off – copy the url from your blog or website, highlight the section of text you want to link to, when you do, two greyed buttons on the top row of the toolbar next to the right orientation button become active – click on the first icon (looks like chain links) and a pop up screen appears and you can post your url into Links URL field. If it worked, the link will be blue and underlined!
Clear as mustard? Probably not – but have a play next time and see how you go!
